Patio Seating on a Sunny Day

The weather in Seattle is starting to heat up. If you’re hoping to enjoy the sun with a cold beer in your hand, come down to Attic Alehouse!

In fact, we were the first Seattle tavern to offer front patio seating, and we made it look so good plenty of other bars have followed suit. We can offer you a beautiful view of Seattle’s Madison Park neighborhood, and we’re blocks from the beach if you feel like taking a stroll along the water before dropping in.

Of course, to an extent, a patio is a patio is a patio--what really makes Attic Alehouse different is our beer. We have 20 rotating taps with an unbeatable selection of local and international craft microbrews, and we’d love nothing more than to recommend you a pint of something perfect for a sunny day. You can never go wrong with a Manny’s Pale Ale, which we always have on tap. Manny’s has been a point of local pride for many years when it started as Georgetown Brewing Company’s flagship ale, and it always tastes great on a patio!

5 Karaoke Songs for 5 Kinds of Drunk

Luckily (or maybe unluckily) for bartenders everywhere, karaoke and alcohol go together like gin and juice. And if a good bartender is defined by being able to help someone find a drink they’re going to love, maybe we’re also pretty good at helping people figure out what they’re in the mood for after they’ve thrown a few back. Here are five of our karaoke pairings for each kind of drunk you might get tonight:

Are You Cry-About-Your-Break-Up Drunk?

Alanis Morissette wrote the book on how to tell your asshole ex to go screw himself, and the title of that book is “You Oughta Know.” Have a few wines and scream out all your rage. Note: this song is best performed while staring into the eyes of your ex and his new girlfriend.

Are You a Sexy Drunk?

Ginuwine’s “Pony” is not only one of the steamiest songs ever written, but you’re going to love all the built-in bronco-riding dance moves. We just hope your hips are limber enough for the job.

Are You a Confident Drunk?

It seems like everytime someone wants to show off their voice they pick a some dull ballad that puts the whole room to sleep. If you want to flex your talents and keep it light, skip the Whitney Houston and pick literally anything by Madonna. Of course, if you nail “Like A Prayer,” you’ll be a karaoke legend.

Are you an “I Love You, Man” Drunk?

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream” is one of the best love songs ever written, made even better because it can be about any kind of love. If you’re with your spouse, your best friend, your sister, or anyone who’s stuck with you for better or for worse, this is the best song to grin like idiots at each other.

Are You an Obnoxious Drunk?

Everyone knows every word of this and physically cannot resist singing along. And best of all, even if your voice can sound like a someone’s shaking a bag of gravel and it won’t matter. In fact, it might help. You and all your obnoxious pals can belt this one out together and take over the room.

Got a better song? Prove it! Come down to Attic Alehouse on a Friday after 10pm for some of the rowdiest karaoke in Seattle. We’ve got the best hostess in town, and a room full of voices that belong everywhere from America’s Got Talent to America’s Funniest Home Videos. Want to come throw down with the best, or sing along with the rest? Come to Attic Alehouse!

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Attic Alehouse—And Try These Games!

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Attic Alehouse—And Try These Games!

Are you wondering what you’re going to do to ring in 2016? Come hang out at the Attic Alehouse, your favorite neighborhood bar!

The Attic Alehouse is the perfect destination for anyone living in Madison Valley or Capitol Hill who wants to avoid the craziness of those bars on Pike and Pine but still wants to be part of a full house with plenty of fun.

The Attic Alehouse will be turning its many TVs over to watching the ball drop this New Year’s Eve. Come raise a glass a with us! And because December 31st will be falling on a Thursday, you can take advantage of our Throwback Thirsty Thursday deal—$1 pints after 8pm!

Here are a few of our favorite bar games to keep you having fun all night long:

Everyone sits around a table or stands in a circle. Moving clockwise, someone whispers a question that starts with the word “who” into the ear of the person to their right. Examples of “who” questions include, “Who do you think has had sex with the most people?” or, “Who do do you think is the least funny?” The person who is asked the question will say the name of the person (from the group) that they think is the best answer. If the person whose name was said wants to know what question was asked, they have to take a drink (or a shot!) to find out.

Tiger’s Coming

For this game you’ll need to be sitting at a table. Appoint someone to “take the first watch”. At some point during seated conversation, the person with a shot will yell, “Tiger’s coming!” and everyone must duck underneath the table. The last person to duck under the table has to take the shot that the first watchman bought which is waiting for them down there. That person then has to go to the bar, buy the next shot, and take the next watch for the tiger.

This is a great ongoing game to play throughout the night. At any point, anyone can go up to anyone else and say, “Buffalo,” and if the person is not holding their drink in their non-dominant hand they have to finish the whole thing right then and there. If someone misjudged, however, and yells “Buffalo!” to someone who is holding their drink in theirnon-dominant hand, the person who called it out has to finish their drink all at once.

Come play at the Attic this New Year’s Eve!

Warm Up at the Attic Alehouse!

Brrr… it’s certainly getting chilly out there! But you know what’ll warm you right up? A quick trip to the Attic Alehouse!

Everybody knows that nothing will put fire in your belly quite like a drink, and we certainly have plenty to drink! If you’re a beer person, you’ll be over the moon with our selection of over 20 taps that rotate constantly. We choose our beers carefully and include local favorites from independent breweries, American classics, and some choice imports. One of the best things about the weather getting colder means that generally beer is getting darker—no one wants a stout or a porter during the hot days of summer, but when the weather turns everyone is looking for rich, earthy flavors like chocolate, coffee, and heavy malt. We also have seasonal ales and something, for something a little sweeter, try a Two Town Flagship Cider!

Not into beer? When it comes to getting warm, as in everything else, “liquor is quicker.” At the Attic Alehouse, our “wells” are Absolut, Tanqueray, Hornitos, Jack Daniels, and Captain Morgan—not those cheap plastic handles of rubbing alcohol you’ll get somewhere else. Our “bottom shelf” starts higher than everyone else, and our top shelf also goes higher than their top shelves—and most importantly, our bartenders have the know-how to make the most of these premium spirits!

Still feeling cold? Maybe you should try something hot! We can make you warm drink, but we also have a full food menu! We serve lunch and dinner, sides and appetizers, a full brunch menu and some of the best Happy Hour food deals around! We have fifteen different sandwiches, 13 different burgers, eight different deluxe salads, and we’re happy to customize anything if you want to mix and match.

Come into the Attic for a bite, a beer, a friendly conversation or the big game. We keep it cozy!
